Lightsabers at Grand Canal Dock

A shot of Grand Canal Dock in Dublin, Ireland. The piece of art at the dock always reminds me of Darth Vaders Lightsaber! The shot was taken with a Nikon D810 camera using a Nikkor 16-35mm f/4 lens. I edited the photo using DXO Pro Optics 10, Adobe Lightroom 5 (to reduce the levels of all colours except red) and then reduced the noise levels using Topaz Labs DeNoise 5. Thanks for looking!

This is a photo of the Samuel Beckett bridge that spans the River Liffey in Dublin, Ireland. It was built at a cost of €60million and opened 10 December 2009. In the background, you can see the curved, glass front of the Dublin Convention Centre. Construction on this building completed in 2010 at a cost of £104million. The building is iconic due to a number of architectural innovations, including the glass frontage and a number of curved walls.

This photo was taken using a Nikon D4s DSLR with a Nikon 24mm f/1.4 wide angle lens. The photo was first adjusted in DXO Pro Optics 9, then a filter was applied using Topaz Labs Clarity and finally I slightly adjusted the levels in Lightroom 5.

Dublin – St Patrick’s weekend at night – HDR

This is a shot of Dublin city centre at night, at the start of St Patricks weekend.

This photo was taken using a Sony NEX-6 camera with a Sony 16-50 f/3.5-5.6 powerzoom pancake lens. I reduced some lens anomalies using DXO Pro Optics 9. It was edited into 5 different exposures using Photoshop CS6 and then merged into a single HDR image using Photomatix Pro 5.  From there I reduced the noise, using Topaz Labs DeNoise 5 and then applied a preset setting from Topaz Clarity. I then made a couple of final adjustments within Adobe Lightroom 5.
